Please take note of this useful info: 1. thorough preparation is important! It will always yield higher quality, more durable results. 2. when painting leather, it is critical that the surface be prepared with Angelus Leather Preparer & Deglazer prior to painting. Some artists recommend lightly sanding leather surfaces with very fine sandpaper for better adhesion (do this before cleaning with Preparer).
3. when painting soft, porous surfaces such as fabrics and mesh, you should mix the paint with Angelus 2-Soft and heat-set once the paint is dry to make sure your project remains soft and breathable.
4. when painting hard, non-porous surfaces such as plastic and glass, you will need to mix the paint with Angelus 2-Hard to make sure it adheres properly.
5. it is possible to give your project a matte finish by mixing the paint with a bit of our Angelus Duller additive.
6. to keep your project looking its best and to ensure a uniform finish, check out our Acrylic Finisher - and for protection from scuffs and scratches, be sure to apply Angelus 4-Coat to your work when you're done.
7. shake paint well before use. Apply in thin, even coats to prevent cracking. Mixing your paint with Angelus 2-Thin will thin your paint without diluting the colour - a step that is necessary if you're planning to use an airbrush.
8. Angelus Walk On is the only paint that should be used on the underside of a shoe's sole (also available on Takealot). Depending what they're made of, it is possible to paint midsoles using Angelus paint, but painting the sole is not recommended. Have any questions?
